Platform: Commodore 64
Year: 1987
Developer: Durell Software, Ltd.

In Thanatos you control a fire-breathing dragon and earn points by rampaging though cities, caverns, and castles. It's fun to torch ant-like people who attack you, but the game is pretty slow-paced and difficult to control. The graphics are pretty bland because they were ported from the ZX Spectrum with only half-hearted attempt to increase their color depth. It does have a memorable opening song though.

Music

There is only a single song in Thanatos, and that's the title track composed by Julian Breeze and Rob Hubbard. While it's not quite as epic as some tunes, it is none the less competent and interesting tune.

Ripping Commodore music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
