Super Mario Bros. is a side-view platform action game and a staple NES game. Officially, it sold more than any other game in history (if you include package deals as sales) and is most likely the first game played by a member of the NES generation. The premise is simple; the princess has been kidnapped by a giant reptile named Bowser, and you being the awesome plumber that you are must save her. This is a very early platformer, and it set the standard for many games that would come later.

Music
Super Mario Bros. music is fairly basic. Although due to the overwhelming popularity of the game, many people remember the tunes. The tunes are also known among those who have never played the game.
It has become common knowledge that although he is not credited in the game, Koji Kondo composed the music for SMB. Also, he is listed as the composer on the Famicom 20th Anniversary Original Sound Tracks Vol. 1 album. This is where the track names come from.
