This page is for the American composer. For the English composer, see Stuart Ross.

Stuart Ross is an American composer, sound designer, and programmer. He programmed Absolute's NES sound driver, as well as his own when he worked for Rocket Science Productions. He was also the programmer of an Atari VCS game called Wings, which was never released.

It is possible he also worked on Imagineering's NES games for sound effects, as the NES version of Home Alone 2's source code has the following text:

Prepared for Imagineering, Inc. by

Stuart coded two sound drivers for the NES; one contracted from Imagineering, Absolute Entertainment's subsidiary, and Rocket Science Productions. Stuart initially coded the latter to be written in 6502 assembly, but later wrote a tool to convert MIDI files to his sound driver.

Stuart also did the sound effects for most (if not all) of Absolute/Imagineering's NES games. However, this was only because Imagineering reused sound effects in many of their games. Stuart got a list of sound effects needed from Imagineering, and then gave them to the developers to implement into the game.
