Space Quest I: Roger Wilco In the Sarien Encounter | ||||||||
|
Space Quest I: Roger Wilco In the Sarien Encounter is a VGA variant of Space Quest: Chapter I - The Sarien Encounter (DOS), based as a renamed title to meet naming convention of the development time. Again, Star Generator has been stolen from Arcada, all your crew mates slayed by Sariens.
The game is carried over to new SCI engine, so instead of typing in commands for Roger, you control him by clicking over particular points on the scene and give disposed commands chosen from the top panel (not all ones are necessary to win the game, such as sniffing or tasting).

Music
Ken Allen did a great job composing the soundtrack. The game features a quite decent number of songs used nearly in every scene (screen) of the game.
Songs starting with '1' are played through FM synthesis (Ad Lib and Sound Blaster-compatible) and '3' are PC Speaker recordings. Roland MT-32 songs are yet to be made, as they sound no consistent during game, and another way should be coined to record these ones.
