Space Quest: Chapter II - Vohaul's Revenge (Labeled on the box as Space Quest II: Chapter II) is the second game in the Space Quest series of light-hearted science fiction adventure games. The game takes place a little while after the first game ended. Your fame has faded, and you're back to the job of lowly janitor on a remote ship. While performing your duties, rather poorly I might add, you're kidnapped by thugs and taken to the secret hideout of Sludge Vohaul. He was the scientist who planned on using the Star Generator as a weapon, but you foiled his plans. He now intends to infest the Earth with door-to-door life insurance salesmen that won't take no for an answer. To make sure you're out of the picture, he sends you down to work in the mines of Labion, but the clumsy guards allow you to escape. Now it's up to you to get off the planet and save the Earth once again.

The player controls Roger Wilco by using the arrow keys on the keyboard to move him around, and by typing commands such as "look at the alien" and "search the body". The player will have to spend a lot of time wandering around space ships and alien planets while using a bit of space gumption to figure out the various puzzles.

Space Quest II uses the theme from the first game, but features rearrangements and new music composed by Al Lowe.

Players who had a 3 voice chip heard better music than those with just a PC speaker. Both soundtracks have been recorded, tracks starting with a 1 are recorded from the Tandy 3 Voice chip, tracks starting with a 2 are recorded from the PC Speaker.

(Info)

The audio files wwere ripped out of the resource files using AGI Studio 1.38b. Because there currently aren't any players that accurately support the 3 voice format, the music was recorded during game play through DOSBox emulating a Tandy 1000.

Tracks 1-45 are sound effects, while tracks 60-69 are music. The following tracks don't exist: 27, 39, 50-59, and 61-64.

Track 69 is a short jingle that is never played in the game.

VGM rip is also have been made. It contain the Tandy sound, since VGM format support SN76496 logging.
