Silly Race is a song from Marble Madness. It is played in the fifth board in the game. The song is an early example a dynamic song. The longer the player takes to beat the level, the faster and faster the song goes, creating a feeling of impending urgency.

On the first play through, this tune takes 20 seconds. The second loop plays the same music, but in 18 seconds. Each successive loop through increases the tempo which in turn decreases the length by 2 seconds; 16, 14, 12, etc.
There is a bug in the song which causes the various channels to out of sync with each other. This was most likely due to Wise forgetting to insert the appropriate notes/rests before the song looped.

The Japanese Mega Drive yields an identical sound to the arcade version. The song was arranged for the Mega Drive by Kenji Yokoyama.
