Sign of Evil is perhaps best remembered as the background music for the first time you encounter the Baron of Hell. Bobby Prince used Sequencer Plus Gold to compose this track.

Sign of Evil is played in E1M8: Phobos Anomaly (on the screenshot), E3M4: House of Pain, and E4M1: Hell Beneath. Its internal lump name in the IWAD file is "D_E1M8" and "D_E3M4" (although both being completely identical, the latter is only found in the registered version).

Like in the Doom (DOS), the song Sign of Evil is played during MAP08: Phobos Anomaly but is also used in the MAP24: Military Base (secret level; accessed from MAP03) replacing Hiding the Secrets, which is still present and interestingly used on the other level.
