Shigeharu Isoda is a Japanese composer, sound designer and programmer. He has been composing music for video games for over 20 years. While Isoda was a composer, most of his credits include sound design and programming. Isoda also has a brother, Kenichiro Isoda, and the two have worked together on numerous projects. From 1984 to 1988, Shigeharu attended the University of Tokyo. From 1986 to 2000, Isoda served as a freelance sound designer and programmer. During these times, he went by the monikers "Nasu", "Kazumi Nasu", and variations thereof. He worked on many games for the PC Engine, and is known for its games such as Ys and Darius. He also worked on the PC Engine versions of Outrun and After Burner II. When ASCII was creating the RPG Tsukuru series, he worked on many titles in the series, primarily as a sound programmer.

Shigeharu started working at WaveMaster in 2001 as the Chief Technology Officer/Director, and later served as a Producer and Technical Supervisor. He left WaveMaster in March 2013.

Shigeharu currently serves as a freelancer and lives in Meguro.

Audio Development

NES

For his only Famicom game, Gozonji: Yaji Kita Chin Douchuu, based on the game's credits, Isoda most likely sent his compositions to HAL Laboratory where the music was arranged by Hideki Kanazashi and Hiroaki Suga.

SNES

For his Super Famicom games (as none of his works left Japan), he used his own sound driver called APUDRV.
