Rob Wallace is an American musician who has been composing music professionally for numerous years, and his music can be heard in many types of media including television, film, and video games. He has also produced 12 professional studio albums with his trio. Wallace started his musical life when he was 9 years old and received piano lessons. He first started on video game music when his friend Bruce Sandig introduced him to game design and Rob's first game soundtrack was for Classic Concentration (NES). While Rob was doing the game's music and sound, he enjoyed doing it and decided to pursue video game sound and music as a career. After seven years of doing music for games, he moved to Grand Junction, Colorado because of kidney failures and founded LazyCats Records. Wallace no longer works on video game music, but he still composes music.

Music Development

NES

Concentration was the first game I did and produced on an Amiga computer with a MIDI interface before PC's had the hardware to talk from computer to a MIDI keyboard. The MIDI software was Voyetra, then later Voyetra Studio Pro.

Rob Wallace created MIDI files in Voyetra Studio Pro which were converted to Bruce Sandig's sound engine.

DOS

I used Voyetra Orchestrator Pro for MIDI creation and editing. Back in the old days before fast digital audio and computers, developers only had a VERY limited amount of resources for music. The bulk was for graphics.

Today I use Cubase AI4 with an OASYS keyboard and live players. I am not doing games anymore as I am other commercial music projects.
