On the Hunt
Composer Bobby Prince
Released 1993-12-10
Title Origin Official

On the Hunt was composed by Bobby Prince using the program Sequencer Plus Gold. Like most of the heavy metal songs in Doom, Bobby Prince used popular metal music for inspiration, and listeners compare this track to Believer's Sanity Obscure. This song also has similarities to Dark Hall from Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold composed by the same author.

The song has an interesting chord sequence: Esusb2 plays in the introduction. Then the chord progression follows a blues chord pattern and with 5th and b5th chords sequentially (E5 F(b5), A5 Bb(b5), etc.) On the second loop, the song adds a 3rd to the notes, making it a major, major flat 5th.

This track appears on the Doom Music album as track four.
