Mortal Kombat II is an official demake/port of the Sega Master System, developed by Midway Games and published by Acclaim Ent. in 1994. This port is inferior to the original Arcade because the hardware is inferior and the graphics were also adapted by combining gameplay with a clunky, slow-speed framework on handheld.
This would be technically far inferior to the Game Boy, but this would fare very poorly against the Master System, even though it is color and its higher resolution compared to the gray Game Boy and its low resolution Game Gear. This is based on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version, with the characteristic that the portable console screen is very small and that in color (medium advantage over Game Boy) it was not distributed in the USA and Japan, only the version Game Gear.
Like the arcade original, Mortal Kombat II on the SMS features a roster of characters, each with their unique fighting styles and special moves. Players can engage in one-on-one battles against AI opponents or against another player in multiplayer mode.
One of the defining features of the Mortal Kombat series is the ability to perform gruesome finishing moves called fatalities. In the Sega Master System version, these fatalities are simplified due to hardware limitations. While they lack the complexity and detail of the arcade version, they still capture the essence of the finishing moves.
The Sega Master System version of Mortal Kombat II received mixed reviews. While it was praised for bringing a version of the popular arcade game to a home console, it also faced criticism for its graphical and audio limitations compared to the arcade and other console versions.

Music
Matt Furniss is the composer of the Chiptune music adapted for these two consoles that technically had inferior characteristics. Matt Furniss was the arranger for these versions as the programmer, although there are two tracks that have no use in the game and only 6 tracks were made for the game.
In terms of music, the Sega Master System version of Mortal Kombat II had to make do with the SMS's limited sound capabilities. The original arcade game had a memorable and iconic soundtrack, but the SMS version's music had to be adapted to fit the console's hardware constraints. As a result, the music in the SMS version might not have been as faithful or dynamic as the arcade version.
Please note that the SMS version of Mortal Kombat II is considered to be significantly inferior to its arcade counterpart and the versions released on more advanced gaming platforms. The limitations of the SMS hardware meant that the graphics, audio, and overall gameplay experience were scaled down.
