Michiharu Hasuya is a Japanese composer, sound designer and programmer who worked for Tecmo, Vic Tokai, and Advance Communication Company. While Hasuya is not one of the more popular composers, his work has proven to be very nostalgic to its listeners. He started off working for Tecmo with his first game being Solomon's Key. After he left Tecmo, he started composing games for Vic Tokai as a freelance composer. Later in his video game music career, he started working for Advance Communication Company, where he served as the lead musician along with Osamu Kasai, Masaaki Harada, and various other composers. While Michiharu no longer composes music for video games, he still continues to compose music and has written VSTs on the side.

Music Composition

Michiharu used Yoshiaki Inose's sound engine and wrote in 6502 assembly. According to Michiharu, he had to write the music in hexadecimal, which explains why he repeats parts of his songs in his compositions.

Some listeners have suggested his NES music sounds similar to Paul Webb's.
