Masafumi Ogata is a Japanese composer and sound designer. He joined Sega around 1991, primarily working on the Mega Drive. His magnum opus for the company was for the song he wrote for Sonic CD, Sonic You Can Do Anything. It was also the first song in the series to have vocals. Around 1995, he left Sega and formed his own sound company, AIMS. He also created the group Toy's Planet, with Momo Michishita. The two also worked on the Death Crimson series. Later in his career, he joined Pure Sound and worked on Summon Night 4 alongside Minako Adachi.
