LightForce is a scrolling shooter. You play the last pilot left after aliens have decimated the Regulus system. Your mission is to clear out their presence in space, and on the jungle, ice, and desert planets, before attack their home, rescuing hostages along the way.

The game loops the save five levels over and over again until you run out of lives. Strangely there are no bosses at the end of each level, they just end. Also, the bulk of the game's content is seen by the second level.

Music

Rob Hubbard composed another one of his epic long songs at over seven minutes. The tune play in a continuous loop in the background during menus and game play, never ceasing even at the end of a level.
