Joey JoJo was originally going to be the piece of music used in the main menu of the game. Because the development of the game was prolonged and the main menu also saw a major redesign, the old song was no longer as well suited for the new main menu. Because of this, a new song was composed called Quest for Butter and this song ended up unreleased.

The track was composed by Stephen Rippy using a Boss DSS-330 synthesizer and an E-mu ESI-32 sampler. Finally, the mixing and editing was done using SoundForge.

The song title has been confirmed by Stephen Rippy.
