Platform: Commodore 64
Year: 1983
Developer: David Whittaker

Humphrey for Commodore 64 was nothing much than the bootleg version of Q*Bert. It has the same gameplay, quite the same features and bonuses.

The only reason why this game is really noticeable is the fact that it was programmed fully by David Whittaker, with music also written by him. This probably was his first attempt in computer industry.

Some gameplay instructions.

The first level. Monter will try to kill me, but he won't be able to, all right?

Humphrey - C64 - Level 1 Finish.png

I turned all yellow blocks in blue color and I'm still alive.

Humphrey - C64 - Level 2.png

Level 2 is unfair a bit because I hardly can dodge the moster.

Monster got me and I've lost one life.

Finally lost all three lifes.

Music

The music has the length of only 26 notes, but it has very good quality for 1983 year in Commodore 64 platform (in these days BASIC music was still popular). Also it's interesting that original SID file is only 610 bytes-weight even with header!

The full version plays in the game menu. Another version (shorter than twice of original) plays when some small events happens (such as game over, winning of the level, etc.). It's actually the same music. While the first version does loop, the second doesn't.
