Music
The driver and almost all audio were ported from the Atari 5200 version. Only the sound effect of the refrigerator opening or closing was deleted for unknown reasons, and the sound effect of a gremlin throwing food is unused; if it was used, it would inappropriately loop, a porting bug they possibly didn't get around to fix. The full theme now only plays over the main menu the first time after loading, and the second half plays over any get-ready screen.
The arranger was apparently new to the C64, since the driver rejects pulse waves. All audio uses triangles, sawteeth and noises; arguably still finer than the original squares. Instead of making full use of SID's built-in ADSR envelope features, he also merely changes the sustain (as was necessary on POKEY), emitting a few audible clicks.
Recording
All songs were recorded from VICE 3.2 with the model C64 old NTSC. Whether Gremlins (C64) was officially published in PAL regions is not known yet.
