The Emerson, Lake and Palmer were a progressive rock supergroup formed in 1970 in London and being one of the most popular progressive rock bands in 1970s. They consisted of keyboardist Keith Emerson, vocalist, bassist, guitarist and songwriter Greg Lake and drummer Carl Palmer. The group is usually referred as one of the first supergroups, because Emerson found his popularity fefore ELP while consisting in The Nice, Lake - in King Krimson and Palmer - in Atomic Rooster and Crazy World of Arthur Brown. The main activity of the band ended up with disbanding of ELP in 1979. However, there were concerts and sometimes even new albums with reformed or original members. They performed they last concert in 2010.
Both Emerson and Lake died in 2016, leaving Palmer as the only surviving member of the band.
