This page is for the Ultima III: Exodus song, for more titles see Dungeon.

Dungeons is the song that plays while you're exploring the any of the dungeons or caverns in Sosaria including Perinian Depths, Dardin's Pit, Dungeon of Fire, Dungeon Doom, Mines of Morinia, Dungeon of Time, and the Dungeon of the Snake.

In the Apple II game, there appears to be a bug when you reach the land of Ambrosia which causes the Dungeons theme to play instead of the Ambrosia theme like in future ports of the game. However, when you enter a shrine and exit, the music begins properly playing the Ambrosia theme.

Ultima 4 also features a song unofficially titled Dungeons for the underworld of Britannia, though, while the titles are the same, the music is different.

This song is not present in the PC-9801 and PC-8801 ports. Instead, Exodus' Castle is played in the dungeons.

Title

The unofficial title Dungeons was used for this song because it is a common Internet title for the song, and because it accurately portrays where the player is when this song is heard. Ken Arnold should be contacted for the official name of this song, failing that, game files should be checked for a proper title.

When the game was ported to the Commodore 64, the music was arranged for the SID chip, probably by Ken Arnold, but it may have been done by the game's porter, Chuck Bueche. The music functions in the same manner as the Apple II release, but has a "buzzy" sound compared to the original.

The song is track 4 in the SID file and plays on the 6581.
