- For other games in the series see Doom.
Doom (32X) and Doom (JAG) were the first console versions of Doom (DOS) to include several changes, such as removal of several areas in levels to make a console adaptations (due to memory, cart capacity and other restrictions). While Sega 32X version of Doom was first made by J. Carmack, the publicity saw the Jaguar one earlier.
Doom on 32X is mostly good enough (and addictive) to play. Some little, not-so-much annoying disadvantages include: reduced screen size, (that you actually will fail to notice after a long play), non-rotative enemies who cannot infight but still can kill each one and the lack of Inferno levels making the game a little short. Among those also comes music (see below).

The music of Sega 32X Doom is the worst thing, as say most fans of Doom. In fact, this is a little more better than the OPL2 tunes of original DOS version. On the other hand, you get a much reduced number of songs. Thefore, you cannot hear such breaking ones like I Sawed the Demons, Untitled or Donna to the Rescue. Only the songs from Knee-Deep in the Dead episode are here (exception is Sweet Little Dead Bunny from Inferno), the other were taken out. Even not all of them are used. As sample, The End of DOOM and Introduction are hidden in the ROM but never played. Hacking the ROM to include custom levels can reveal these songs. ROM also has alternative version of At Doom's Gate.
These tracks have been recorded using a Mega Drive Model 1 VA0.
