Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is a famous instrumental that features a rare keyboard instrument piece, the celesta, meaning 'Heavenly' in French. Tchaikovsky wrote Dance of the Sugar Plum fairies because of this instrument and wanted to be the first one to write a song using the celesta. The piece is made famous from the play, 'The Nutcracker'.
