People in this category are programmers who wrote audio code for games, usually in the form of drivers or converters. Sound programmers can also be people who implemented the music and sound effects to be played in the game. In the early days, this was usually handled by the composers and/or sound designers, but sometimes, the composers would only know how to compose music in the sound driver and nothing more, so other game programmers had to implement their compositions and sounds into the game.
