Axel Brown is a British game developer.

He started at Choice Software and is probably the same Axel who programmed Tank (C64), Shackled (C64), and also scored the latter with someone credited as Spud. Both games use the same driver as Cred Breaks Out (C64), scored by James Cosby and also developed by Choice.

While working at Imagitec Design, he programmed sound drivers for them, including a C64 driver for Barry Leitch.

Brown currently resides in Round Rock, Texas, USA.

Audio Development

C64

Axel programmed a sound driver in 6502 assembly, in which the music was also written in assembly. Dave Chiles and Adrian Waterhouse later made modifications to the sound driver.

SNES

Brown reprogrammed Nintendo's Kankichi-kun sound driver. Music was entered in 65C816 assembly.
