Adventures of Lolo was an Americanized port of the Eggerland franchise in Japan, originally made for the MSX computer, and it is one of the most underrated puzzle games on the NES. The game did not get a lot of publicity when it came to the States, and was left behind as one of the hidden gems of the NES.
The game takes place in the country of Eden. In this game, you play as Lolo (who you may recognize from the Kirby series). King Egger has stolen your girlfriend Lala, and you must solve a variety of different puzzles in order to save her.
The objective of the game is to collect all the heart icons in the level. After that, the treasure chest in the level will open and then you must collect the orb inside it. It may sound simple, but King Egger has sent his enemies to kill you; Snakeys, Leepers, Rockys, Gols, Almas, Skulls, Medusas and Don Medusas. Sometimes, collecting hearts will give you eggs, which you can use to either freeze an enemy or temporarily knock them off the level. There are also other powerups the hearts can give you, such as a hammer for breaking a rock or an arrow icon which can change the direction of a one way arrow platform. After 9 castles, you finally get to King Egger himself.
Adventures of Lolo would go on to spawn a couple sequels on the NES, simply named "Adventures of Lolo 2" and "Adventures of Lolo 3". There was also a GameBoy game made that never made it to the States and a few computer games.

Music
The game's music is what is expected from an NES game. Unusually, the game doesn't contain any title music. The main theme can get in your head but since you'll be hearing it throughout the whole game, the song can get very annoying after hours of play. This was also a problem with the second and third installment on the NES. The game lacks credits, but a couple of the Japanese Lolo games which used the same music contained credits. While the composer that is credited in the Japanese versions uses an alias, it has become common knowledge that the real name of the composer is Hideki Kanazashi. Other HAL staff members have verified the composer's real name. Since Hiroaki Suga was a sound programmer at HAL, he is listed as the game's sound programmer. In one of the Japanese Lolo games (Revival of the Labyrinth), he is credited as the sound director. In the Famicom Disk System game "Eggerland", the game also credits the software that was used to make the game, Music Maker being one of the tools.

Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
