The Goonies (FC)

Goonies - FC - Stage 1.png

There are two versions of The Goonies 'R' Good Enough in the Famicom game. The songs are essentially the same, however, the first version has a 13 second introduction. The longer version plays only in stage 1 while the shorter version plays in stages 3 and 6. The long version is track 1 in the NSF file with a length of 54 seconds, and the shorter version is track 4 with a length of 41 seconds. Both versions loop. The PlayChoice-10 and Vs. System games use music identical to the Famicom.

The Goonies (MSX)

The MSX port uses the same music as the Famicom version, so there are two different versions of The Goonies 'R' Good Enough. Version one has a 13 second introduction, version 2 does not. However, since the MSX port has a completely different map layout, the songs are not played in the same locations as the Famicom release. In the KSS file, the songs are tracks $9B for version one, and $96 for version two. The music is played through the MSX PSG.

The Goonies (X1)

The Sharp X1 port is based on the Famicom version, and it plays The Goonies 'R' Good Enough in stage 1. The song is played on the YM2149.

The Goonies II (NES)

Like the first game, The Goonies 'R' Good Enough is played in two versions. While they're nearly identical, the first version has a bit more of an intro on the song. Both versions loop.

Lyrics

None of the game's incarnations feature the lyrics of the original single.

Here we are
Hanging onto strains of greed and blues
Break the chain then we break down
Oh it's not real if you don't feel it
Unspoken expectations
Ideals you used to play with
They've finally taken shape for us.

What's good enough for you
Is good enough for me
It's good enough
It's good enough for me
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Now you'll say
You're startin' to feel the push and pull
Of what could be and never can
You mirror me stumblin' through those

Old fashioned superstitions
I find too hard to break
Oh maybe you're out of place

What's good enough for you
Is good enough for me
It's good enough
It's good enough for me
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

(Good Enough) for you
Is good enough for me
It's good, it's good enough
It's good enough for me
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Old fashioned superstitions
I find too hard to break
Oh maybe you're out of place

What's good enough for you
Is good enough for me
It's good enough
It's good enough for me
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

(Good Enough) for you
Is good enough for me
It's good, it's good enough
It's good enough for me
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
