The MSM6295, also called the OKI6295 or M6295, is an audio chip designed by OKI. It has 4 channels and uses ADPCM voice synthesis to mimic human speech. The chip was first used around 1987, and it quickly became widely popular in arcade games and continued to be used for decades after.
