Year: 1989
Developer: Pack-In-Video

Knight Rider has not had a good reputation. The gameplay was awful and most players are unable to make it past the first stage. Since the game is based on a popular television franchise at the time, it was to be expected that the game would lack in quality, as most movie/television-based games weren't all that good. The game was probably rushed in production in order to make a quick dollar.

In this game, you drive KITT through sixteen first-person car stages; from Los Angeles to Vegas. You must destroy cars and face a vehicular boss at the end of each level. The game contains a weapon called the P.I.V. Bomb which probably refers to the developer (Pack-In-Video).

Music

The game's music also lacks quality, even for 1989. There are only five songs and they're really short songs that loop repeatedly. You better like the level theme, because you'll be hearing that throughout the whole entire game.

Like most Pack-In-Video games, there are no staff credits. However, a Japanese site says that Hiroshi Nishizawa composed the music to Knight Rider on the Famicom which is the same game as the NES version, so the music has been attributed to him. Though the game itself doesn't have staff credits, the Japanese manual probably does.

Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
