Game
Life Force is a competent scrolling shooter from Konami borrowing heavily from Gradius. It has plenty of the staple scrolling shooter elements: different weapons, option powers, missiles, and memorable bosses. The level design lends itself to being inside of a human body, although there are plenty of inconsistencies (like the Egyptian stage). Overall, it's a very cool game ported from the arcade hit.
Music
Lifeforce has an above average soundtrack. The music is refined (or as refined as an NES game can get), but certainly not ground breaking. The game credits come from the Japanese original, Salamander. Unlike Life Force's ending that only has the Konami logo, Salamander's ending has some animation and a credits roll completely in English, which makes you wonder why they kept it out.
Ripping
Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
