Game
Ashen Empires started as a side project for its creator under the title Dransik, but quickly ballooned into a large MMORPG. Once the game went pay-to-play, ownership of the game kept switching hands until it finally settled to where it is today with Iron Will Games. The game features a much less graphic intense world, and focuses more on character and world building.
Music
Early on in the game's development it acquired an amazingly powerful soundtrack which was the debut work for the composer Paavo Härkönen. The music fits perfectly for a high-fantasy RPG giving plenty of different themes.
Ripping
The type 1 MIDI soundtrack of Ashen Empires was distributed with the game, but the MP3 soundtrack (instead of a Vorbis soundtrack) was released by the composer for the enjoyment of the fans. It was downloaded from the composers home page.
